About Us

Milton’s Plants is named for my grandfather, Milton. His home was full of tropical plants, cacti, succulents, rocks, pots, and little reminders of places he had traveled. He built his own greenhouse, kept careful notes about his collection, and was always growing something.

This shop is our way of carrying a little of that forward.

How the plants get to you

We are a small business based in Austin, Texas. We work with experienced growers in California and Florida who ship plants directly from their greenhouses.

That means your plant does not make an unnecessary stop at our warehouse or sit boxed up longer than it needs to. It leaves the greenhouse and heads straight to you.

The growers handle the growing. We choose what goes into the shop, help you find the right plant, and take care of you if something goes wrong.

We carry tropical houseplants, cacti, succulents, pet-friendly plants, easier options for beginners, and a few unusual varieties for people whose homes are already starting to look like greenhouses.

Every plant on the site is one we would be happy to bring into our own home.

We’re here when you need us

Ordering a live plant online can feel like a bit of a gamble. We try to make it less of one.

If your plant does not arrive in good condition, send us a note and some photos. A real person here in Austin will look at it and help make things right.
